Local History & Genealogy

The Local History and Genealogy collections at WCDPL specialize in the history of Bowling Green and Wood County, and attract researchers from all over the country. Highlights of the collection include primary resources of the history of Bowling Green and Wood County, image archives, family histories, microfilms of area newspapers from the mid-19th century to present day.

Local History Collections Include: 

Bowling Green Phone Books and City Directories
This collections includes some materials from the late 19th and early 20th century to present.
Family Histories and Wood County First Family List
Military Rosters from various time periods.
Newspapers on Microfilm 
This collection primarily features the Sentinel Tribune (under its various titles) from mid-19th century, with some gaps, to present. The collection also includes a smaller selection of area papers.
Ohio Counties Collection
Thanks to the generous support of the Wood County Genealogy Society, we have been able to build a large collection of genealogy materials for nearly every county in Ohio. Materials are filed alphabetically by county name.
