Foundation Board

The WCDPL Foundation, created in 1994 by the Library Board of Trustees, exists to secure the long-term financial position of the library. The Foundation raises and invests funds to meet current and future Library needs. The Foundation works to secure gifts through a planned-giving program, an annual campaign, and an annual summer benefit.

The WCDPL Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation organized to receive and administer private funds. The Greater Toledo Community Foundation administers investments on behalf of the WCDPL Foundation.

The WCDPL Foundation's primary goals are to provide support for:

Acquisition of Quality, In-Demand Books and Materials

Purchasing quality, in-demand books and materials that the community depends on to stay informed. The Library offers many resources to encourage early literacy development, family literacy, lifelong learning, and popular reading.

Children's Services & Early Literacy Development

Children's services & early literacy development, as research shows that today's library patrons used the library as children. Programming and special initiatives reach children and families, helping to make the library and reading an important part of their lives.

The Foundation Series

This author and speaker series was formed to bring widely recognized, engaging, and stimulating, speakers to our community.  Continued support is needed to ensure that the library can continue to provide vibrant and creative experiences for our community to explore, discover, and learn.

Local History and Genealogy Services

Local history and genealogy services to preserve and share family and community history. Print and digital resources permit in-depth research. Digitization of local information (newspapers, photographs, documents, etc.) expands the library’s ability to deliver unique local content to the entire world.

Facilities

Facility investments because it is important to take care of the taxpayer funded buildings entrusted to us.
